Philosophy
The “Heart of Europe” is a befitting title to a country of barely 11 000 000 inhabitants, called The Czech Republic. Its small size - stretching barely 500 km from east to west and 300 km from south to north - is by no means a reflection of her cultural and natural assets. The prominence of folklore, high art, and the abundance of meticulously preserved historical and natural UNESCO sites have put The Czech Republic in the forefront of global tourism. The folklore festival in the town of Straznice, the myriad compositions of Antonin Dvorak, Bedrich Smetana and Leos Janacek, breathtaking spa centers in western Bohemia, and the picturesque vineyards of South Moravia have become world-renown. They attract both the arts revellers as well as the serenity seekers. Without a doubt, The Czech Republic is nowadays a modern and progressive country which still continues to boast long traditions in the manufacturing of fine porcelain and crystal, its succulent cuisine, world-class writers and finally, its fascinating language.
What better way is there to understand the character of a nation and the richness of its creations than through the understanding of its language! inCzechCompany language program is founded on the idea that in order to understand the Czech culture and its artistic splendor, one must understand the language. We believe that language defines the culture by which it is spoken and therefore, one cannot be understood without the understanding of the other.
inCzechCompany offers lessons to children, young adults or mature adults. In addition, private lessons can be individualized and adapted to the student's needs - from pronunciation training, to grammar, to history and even literature. Our lessons incorporate readings from classical and modern literature, as well as from current forms of communication. Works of 19th century revivalists such as Alois Jirasek, Svatopluk Czech and Bozena Nemcova, along with 20th century samizdat as well as post-November literature of Milan Kundera, Josef Skvorecky, Vaclav Havel have a special place in our curriculum. Students can decide the duration of the program - from one-week crash courses to more thorough long term programs. inCzechCompany teaches not only the Czech language but also the Czech way of life.
inCzechCompany is a virtual Czech language school. All lessons are conducted in real time with a real teacher.
